What Discounts Do Preferred Customers Usually Get from Premium Oil Product Manufacturers?

When someone asks about Preferred Customer discounts, they are usually trying to figure out one thing:
Is it actually worth joining, or should I just buy what I need when I need it?
I’m Ken Smith, a certified AMSOIL independent dealer, and in my opinion, the answer depends on how often you plan to use the products.
Preferred Customer programs are usually designed for people who want premium products for personal use and want better pricing than standard retail.
That means the value is strongest for people who:have multiple vehicles, maintain trucks or equipment, ride motorcycles, use powersports machines,or simply know they are going to keep buying premium lubricants over time.
The reason I often recommend the Preferred Customer route is not just because of the pricing itself. It is because of the combination of pricing and access.
You get better pricing, yes, but you also create a simpler, more reliable way to keep the right products on hand for your maintenance needs.
And that matters.
Because if someone owns a truck, a daily driver, a bike, and a side-by-side, or if they manage work vehicles and equipment, the savings and convenience add up more quickly than people think.
I also think people should look at it realistically. The biggest benefit is not chasing a one-time discount. The biggest benefit is becoming a regular user at a better value while using products that support performance, engine protection, and long-term reliability.
That is why I tell people not to look at the program like a coupon.Look at it like a smarter maintenance setup.
And when someone signs up through me, I help them make sure they are actually getting value out of that account by choosing the right products and understanding what to use where.
