Award-Winning Vehicles of the St. Ignace Cup Presented by AMSOIL

Updated: Jul 8, 2021

Car show season is here, and with summer in full swing one of America’s most anticipated pastimes is officially underway. This past weekend saw thousands of vehicles and spectators descend on St. Ignace, Mich., for the 45th Annual St. Ignace Car Show Weekend. Featuring cruises around Michigan’s scenic upper peninsula, parades, fireworks and all the vehicular eye candy one can digest, the 2021 St. Ignace Car Show was once again a success.

The St. Ignace Cup

One of the highlights of the weekend was the Pfaff Designs St. Ignace Cup Presented by AMSOIL.

Produced by award-winning hot rod designer Murray Pfaff, this friendly (yet real) competition gives a platform to the most talented vehicle builders from the Great Lakes region and across the country. The winner was selected out of 25 participants by fellow competitors along with the St. Ignace judging panel to receive $5,000 and the custom-designed “St. Ignace Cup” trophy. With heavy competition hot on his heels, this year saw Marv Wiegand take home the win with his 1960 Rambler American two-door wagon.

Said Murray Pfaff of this year’s winning build: “Marv Wiegand’s 1960 Rambler is a prime example of the successful blend of creativity, craftsmanship, engineering and a very pleasing overall aesthetic. It is truly the embodiment of a hot rod that demands to be driven, and the peer group of judges all agreed.”

Quincy Ranville, St. Ignace Events Director, added: “The St. Ignace Car Show Weekend epitomizes the concept that the perfect blend of uniqueness, beauty and nostalgia can create something truly spectacular, and Marv Wiegand’s 1960 Rambler hits that nail right on the head. We here at the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau can’t thank AMSOIL and Pfaff Designs enough for the creation of the Pfaff Designs St. Ignace Cup presented by AMSOIL – our event, and our community, are all the better for it.”

The five runners-up each received a $500 cash prize and a plaque to commemorate the occasion. These builds are clearly in a class of their own when it comes to craftsmanship, detail and style. Congratulations to all participants for an excellent showing at the 2021 Pfaff Designs St. Ignace Cup Presented by AMSOIL.
